Our Lady of Grace Wedding Photos

Today I’m sharing these lovely Our Lady of Grace wedding photos.

Our Lady of Grace is a beautiful cathedral for Greensboro wedding photographers. I’ve always liked catholic churches and weddings there have a very beautiful way of progressing. The sanctuary starts out silent and still, then the church wedding ladies begin to set out flowers and page boys arrive, and then guests, and then the wedding mass. There’s always a quiet moment before the ceremony where the bride is outside with her dad, and right before the doors open there’s always a few last words and deep breaths, and sometimes some tears. I love the wedding mass liturgy, and how there’s order and flow to it. It’s like the whole morning builds up to it in a way. I love that the windows are huge, the light is always soft. I’m a sucker for windows and natural light and shadows. I love the column’s lining the outside of the pews that provide texture and depth to wedding photos. It’s always a pleasure to photograph there.

A full catholic wedding mass is really very elegant. It appeals to the part of me that’s liturgical, that craves symbolism and dedication and calls us all to refocus on the meaning on the meaning of marriage. In a way, it’s sort of like you can sense that you’ll have an experience that’s outside of you, but vital to the ceremony. I’m digressing, but cathedral weddings are like that for me- they have  reverence about them that I deeply appreciate.

In a way, the grandness of the reception at Greensboro Country Club was a perfect compliments to these Our Lady of Grace Wedding photos. Set back in a historic southern neighborhood, the country club has a classic feel to it that compliments our lady of Grace. The large windows and expansive courses give a person a sense of being far away from the city, even though you’re in the heart of Greensboro. It’s a beautiful location for both ceremony and reception. Chris and Tara’s wedding reception was a wonderful joyous party. I loved seeing their families join together to support the couple as they start out in life together.
